Breaking: You are not man enough, Nwodo berates Edeoga on visiting Nnamani
Callistus Ogbonna
The former Ohanaeze Ndigbo General, Nnia Nwodo has lambasted the guber candidate of the Labour Party in the just concluded Enugu gubernatorial election, Chijioke Edeoga over his yesterday’s visit to the former governor of Enugu State, Sen.Chimaroke Nnamani.
Nwodo in an interview with our correspondents which was held today at his residence in Enugu expressed his displeasure over what he described as a ”desperate move of the hawk” exhibited by the Labour Party guber candidate by visiting a man who once humiliated him in the public during the PDP guber primary, maintaining that Nnamani’s recent outburst on the PDP and its candidate, Mbah shouldn’t have served as a unifying factor between them.
He further questioned the rationale for such affability, asking if there is any political magic the former governor would do that will make him (Edeoga) emerge as the winner of the 2023 poll aside following the legal process, expressing his disappointment that a man like Edeoga whom he alongside with notable personality like Barth NNaji sponsored his campaign and even had to engage in some nocturnal activities could forget their efforts and turn to a man who never cared a hoot to know about his political journey all this while.
The elder statesman maintained that a leader should always persevere and be courageous even in the face of defeat and not to be hobnobbing with his enemies in order to wipe off the shame of defeat, arguing that any man at the age of the guber candidate who could wake up and decide to go into the camp of his enemy overnight just to sing praises and gain favor is not man enough and shouldn’t be found in the assemblage of men.
”When Barth Nnaji called me yesterday to tell me about what our candidate has done, I doubted it. I told him that I nurtured Edeoga as a son-in-law and has been making a lot of impact in his political career, therefore, he can’t make a such move without letting me know.
”When Barth, the former Minister of Power insisted that he got the information from a reliable source, I decided to put a call through to Edeoga and he told me that he went to thank the former governor for being a man of truth. I couldn’t stomach the disappointment and I have to drop the call. Though, Edeoga was here later in the night and I told him off. Yes, that is the first sign of ingratitude knowing fully well that we don’t have anything in common with the former governor,” Nwodo explained.
Recall that the former governor after losing the election has been constantly making all manner of tweets which many believed is not going in the favor of the Peoples Democratic Party in Enugu State, but rather taking sides with Chijioke Edeoga of the Labour Party.
