BREAKING: You will have my vote when you return my husband’s land – Widow tells Enugu guber candidate (Video)

A widow, Mrs Agnes Ngwoke has yesterday called on the guber candidate of Labour Party in Enugu State, Chijioke Edeoga to let go of her late husband’s land and have her vote in the forthcoming governorship election.
Mrs Ngwoke who hails from Ape-Mgbuji in Eha-Amufu, Isi-Uzo Local Government Council, in an interaction with our correspondent lamented that Mr. Edeoga seized her late husband’s land and has gone to destroy the erected building her children managed to build in the land, even as he had arrested all the economic trees in the nearby forest.
The widow who has two adult boys and three young girls told our reporter that the guber candidate whose daily routine is seizing the lands of the downtrodden and widows through intimidation and brigandage, came into the land in March 2020, claiming that the land belongs to his family, and insisting that he was going to erect poultry houses in the land, while ordering them to remove anything that belongs to them before the next 7 days.
According to her, they appealed to the conscience of the elders in their community who told Edeoga that the land in question belongs to Chief Mathias Ngwoke, the late husband of the widow, but Edeoga refused and threatened that if anyone goes to the land, the person will smell the rod as he will not relent in using the powers of the government in dealing severely with such person.
The mother of five who spoke in pidgin English could not hold back her tears as she led us to the parcel of land which Edeoga had converted to his personal property, pleading that should Edeoga return her late husband’s land, she and her family will vote for him but if he fails, the sword of justice will never depart from his home.
“It is my husband’s land, we have been cultivating on this piece of land until Chief Chijioke Edeoga (Okaome) came and ordered us to remove every pin we own in the land because the land belongs to his father. All pleas from the elders for him to leave the land for us fell on deaf ears as he swore to deal ruthlessly with anyone that goes into the land. We couldn’t do anything again because he brags that he has the government powers to do whatever he says.
“Other widows are suffering the same fate, even Mrs Mary Nweze’s daughter, Nkechi, was defiled by this same man after he told the widow that her daughter should come so that he will finalize with her on the land. Four months along the lane, the 17 year old girl became pregnant and confessed that Edeoga told her to do it with him and her father’s land will be returned” Mrs Ngwoke narrates.
It should be recalled that NijaTrend News reported on November, 3, 2022 that the Kinsmen of Mr. Chijioke Edeoga had dragged him to a customary court sitting in Eha-Amufu over the seizure of lands jointly owned by the community.
