PDP seized allocations to LGs in Borno, Yobe, Adamawa for 18 months – Lawan alleges

President of the Senate, Ahmad Ibrahim Lawan has lambasted the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP for stopping the statutory allocations of local governments in the insurgency-affected states of Borno, Yobe and Adamawa for 18 months during the party’s reign.

Lawan who spoke at the Presidential Campaign Rally of the ruling APC held in Damaturu, Yobe State also said people in these states suffered without developmental projects.

“Your Excellency, Borno, Yobe and Adamawa particularly, we were under a state of emergency for 18 months.

“For 18 months, the then Federal Government stopped our statutory allocations to our local governments.

“We suffered, our people suffered. No developmental projects going on at all until you came in 2015. That was the salvation moment”, he said.

Lawan also claimed that during the PDP era, the ecological fund was disbursed based on your party.

“They will give to only PDP States. They will not give other states that were in opposition.

“Infact PDP should be ashamed of itself. They destroyed this country. They should have no chance to go round this country, seeking the support of Nigerians”, he said.

The number three citizen, however, commended President Muhammadu Buhari for providing impartial and purposeful leadership.

“Your Excellency, you have been in the seat of leadership in this country. For the seven and half years, you have done wonderfully well”, he added.
